Do you daydream of eating your mom’s delicious homemade cookies? Wish you could spend all day munching on Peanut Blossoms, Russian Tea Cakes, and fluffy Snickerdoodles? If you love these round, crunchy, sweet treats...then you’ll LOVE our Holiday Cookie Contest! If there’s a specific cookie that you love to bake during this time of year, we want you to send it our way.

 

 


Entering is easy as pie (well, in this case, cookies.) All you have to do is:

  1. LIKE our Facebook page.
  2. COMMENT on a contest post with a photo or video of YOU baking your cookie recipe.
  3. TAG a friend who loves these yummy morsels as much as you do!

Participants can submit multiple entries and the contest is open to all California residents.
The contest will start Monday, December 5th. Photos will be accepted until Sunday, December 18th at midnight. One lucky winner will be chosen on Monday, December 19th.

Not only will you get to spend some time baking cookies, but if your photo is chosen, you'll take home a KitchenAid Bakeware Set! Perfect for baking all kinds of festive goodies for your loved ones this year.

Ingredients:

o 1 ½ cup powdered sugar

o 1 cup softened butter

o 1 tsp. peppermint extract

o 1 tsp. vanilla extract

o 1 egg

o 3 cups flour

o 3 candy canes

o 1 tsp baking powder

o ½ tsp. salt

o ½ cup chopped Candy Cane Hershey Kisses

o Sugar (to roll cookies in)

o 36 unwrapped Candy Cane Hershey Kisses

  • What you need:

o Cookie Sheet

o Mallet or food processor to crush candy canes

o Hand/stand mixer

o Mixing bowls

o Spatula/Mixing Spoon

o Knife to chop kisses

Directions:

o Check refrigerator or freezer to make sure you have room for a cookie sheet.

o Crush candy canes into tiny pieces.

o Combine powdered sugar, butter, extracts and egg in a large bowl.

o Beat at medium speed until fluffy.

o Combine flour, crushed candy canes, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl.

o Add flour mixture to wet mixture and beat until well blended (mixture will be kind of dry).

o Stir in chopped kisses.

o Shape dough into 1 inch balls; roll in granulated sugar.

o Place 1-inch apart on cookie sheet.

o Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350 until firm and set.

o Remove from oven and immediately press a Candy Cane Kiss in the center of each cookie.

o Place cookie sheet into the freezer or refrigerator to keep kisses from melting.
