It may still feel like summer outside...but we’re dreaming of autumn leaves and pumpkin everything here at Mountain House! Celebrate the official first day of fall this week (September 22nd) by getting in the spirit of the season and transforming your home with these easy DIY crafts!
Wood Block Pumpkins. We love being surrounded by pumpkins this time of year, which means we love them in any shape or form! Putting together wood block pumpkins is a fun fall project that will add flair to any room in your home. The supplies you’ll need: wood blocks, acrylic paint, Distress Ink, gauge wire, and green card stock. EXAMPLE
Rustic Mason Jars. Who doesn’t love adorning their home with adorable mason jars? If you’re a mason jar junkie, this is definitely the fall craft for you! The supplies you’ll need: 4 mason jars, white and brown acrylic paint, foam paint brush, twine, vinyl, sandpaper, and wheat. EXAMPLE
Owl Ornaments. Creating owl ornaments is a super simple craft that you can do with your kids on a rainy day. All you need are pinecones (different sizes), felt, a hot glue gun, scissors, and pipe cleaner. Place them in different corners of your home for added cuteness and a forest-like atmosphere. EXAMPLE
Foam Wreaths. Your home wouldn’t feel complete if you didn’t have a few festive wreaths on your walls. Foam wreaths are just as great as traditional wreaths...just easier to assemble and more fun to make! Gather up one foam wreath, burlap (preferably fall colors), floral pins, 4-5 sprigs of fall leaves, and one faux pumpkin sprig. EXAMPLE
Popcorn Kernel Candle. What happens when you have fall scented candles, glass candle jars, and some unpopped popcorn? An easy peasy, elegant piece of decor that will light up your living room and impress your guests. EXAMPLE
Crock-Pot Potpourri. Have some family gatherings coming up? Whip up this AMAZING crock-pot potpourri and let it simmer throughout the night. It will feel (and smell) like fall in no time! EXAMPLE
Fall Painted Bottles. Need some centerpiece ideas for your dining room table? Get out your spray paint, empty wine bottles, cardboard or newspaper for your crafting space, and your favorite fall extras for the perfect leafy look. EXAMPLE
