Summer’s in full swing at Mountain House and we’re here for it! The long, warm days and that irresistible combination of fun activities and lazy days are what this season’s all about! From a backyard pool sesh and hours at the splash pad to backyard barbecues and discovering a new favorite ice cream flavor - we love this time of year!
There’s nothing like a fantastic outdoor living space to help you and the fam make the most of the season. This month we’re featuring the homes at Zephyr Ranch by Taylor Morrison and taking a closer look at all of our favorite backyards and outdoor living areas. Read on for all the inspo, tips for creating a stylish and comfy outdoor space, and to help plan your visit to tour Zephyr Ranch homes in person!
Plenty of comfortable seating for family and guests is key, and a covered patio or market umbrella provides shade and helps keep the area cool during the day. See more of this Residence Two home HERE.
Ideally, an outdoor room is easily accessible from the home’s main living spaces for a smooth transition from inside to outside. The lovely French doors in Residence Two make it convenient for family and friends to move from the great room and kitchen to the covered backyard patio.
A pergola is a decorative way to break up the sunlight and add visual interest and height to a space. Paint or stain it to match or complement the home’s exterior for a cohesive look. Check out the rest of Residence Four HERE.
S’mores anyone? Gather around the fire pit in the evenings to stay warm and cozy while looking for the Big Dipper and Orion’s Belt in the night sky. We also like the second set of French doors here at Residence One to allow backyard access from the master bedroom. See the entire Residence One floorplan HERE.
Create an area for fun and leisure like this backyard at Residence Four that includes space for lawn games, a play structure for the kids, or even a vegetable garden. A variety of seating areas is great for your family or neighborhood barbecues and summer evening soirees.
And don’t forget to make it personal! Candles, potted plants and greenery, colorful cushions, and an outdoor rug are easy and cost-effective ways to transform and spruce up a space. You can even go with a particular theme that ties in with the rest of the home, like nautical, French country, farmhouse, industrial - you get the idea.
Last but definitely not least (and quite possibly the most important) don’t forget the bar cart! Pro tip: find one with a drink cooler so you and guests can easily grab another cold one without having to venture inside because #summergoals.
